Azerbaijani FM meets with CEO of humanitarian organization Roots of Peace

On May 11, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov met with Heidi Kuhn, Founder and CEO of Roots of Peace, a humanitarian-nonprofit organization, which carries out humanitarian activities in the field of mine clearance, Report informs, citing MFA.

During the meeting, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave detailed information to Kuhn about the mine threats against Azerbaijan as a result of Armenia's 30-year-long aggression against our country.

It was pointed out that the citizens of Azerbaijan became victims of landmines massively buried by Armenia and Armenia's non-cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of mine clearance.

The minister emphasized that mine threats are an obstacle to the restoration and reconstruction work after the 44-day Patriotic War and the process of the return of internally displaced persons to their homes.

Ms. Heidi Kuhn stressed the importance of the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations for the entire region and at the same time declared her intention to visit the liberated territories of Azerbaijan and support joint cooperation in this direction.

Later, the parties exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
