Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan ties reach a new level, expert says

Relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are reaching a new level today, while cooperation between the two countries can serve as an example of interaction amid modern global challenges, Uzbek parliament member and expert at the American Spiritual and Educational Center Jamila Shermukhamedova said in an interview with Report's correspondent in Tashkent.

"Today, I think it is a holiday for the two peoples - Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. This summit, this meeting and the numerous documents adopted once again confirm our fraternal relations in the fields of culture, science, education and, in particular, economic development," she said.

According to the expert, the relations of trust between the leaders of the two countries are of particular importance.

The parliament member stressed that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan covers the economy, industry, science, education and culture.

She separately highlighted the role of young people in further strengthening bilateral ties, pointing to the development of student exchanges between the two countries.

"I think that today's meeting, in the context of globalization, will be an example to the whole world of what relations between the leaders of two states should be like. Both leaders are moving hand in hand," she said.
