Azerbaijan, UN discuss role of parliaments in strengthening democratic governance

Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis (Parliament) Sahiba Gafarova and Tatiana Valovaya, Director‑General of the UN Office at Geneva, discussed the important role of parliaments in strengthening democratic governance.

According to Report, Valovaya has shared a post on her X social media account in this regard.

"I was honoured to welcome H.E. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to UN Geneva. Grateful for our exchange of views on the vital role of parliaments in strengthening democratic governance," reads the post.
