Azerbaijan, UAE hold meeting of Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership

Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates held the second meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in Baku, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

The meeting was chaired by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev and UAE Minister of State Saeed Al Hajeri as co-chairs of the committee.

As part of the committee's work, Rafiyev and Al Hajeri held a one-on-one meeting. This was followed by an expanded meeting chaired by the co-chairs and attended by the ambassadors of both countries and representatives of relevant state bodies. The development of cooperation in various areas was discussed based on reports presented by the subcommittees.

During the meeting, the sides reviewed the work carried out since the committee's first meeting, held in Abu Dhabi in November last year, assessed the results achieved, and exchanged views on priority areas, specific initiatives and joint projects for the coming period.

The co-chairs positively assessed the implementation of the road map and work plans agreed at the committee's first meeting and emphasized the importance of further deepening cooperation aimed at concrete results.

The sides also agreed on putting forward new initiatives for the coming period, further improving existing mechanisms and strengthening the institutional foundations of cooperation.

Along with the Foreign Ministry, Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by officials from the ministries of economy, energy, justice, defense, internal affairs, digital development and transport, science and education, culture, and agriculture, as well as the State Tourism Agency, the Food Safety Agency, SOCAR, Azerbaijan Investment Holding and AZCON Holding.
