Azerbaijan, Switzerland hold political consultations

Bilateral political consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation in Bern, Switzerland, Report informs, citing the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, regional issues, Azerbaijan's partnership with European countries, and economic and humanitarian ties.
Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov led the Azerbaijani delegation, and the other party was led by Anna Ifkovits, Assistant State Secretary and Head of the Eurasia Division at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
The sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, regional issues, Azerbaijan's partnership with European countries, and economic and humanitarian relations.
During the meeting, Khalafov and Ifkovits signed an agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Federal Council on the employment of family members living with members of diplomatic missions, consulates, and permanent missions.
Khalafov also met with Johannes Matyassy, Assistant State Secretary for Asia-Pacific in the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the sides discussed in detail the prospects of cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Switzerland within international organizations, economic and consular issues, and the processes taking place in the South Caucasus and Eastern Europe.
During both meetings, the sides discussed the proposal to attract Swiss companies to the formation of new transport and logistics infrastructure in the South Caucasus, especially in the liberated territories.
The political consultations demonstrated the existence of a constructive political agenda between the two countries and the need to raise relations to a new level of political partnership.
