Azerbaijan, Slovakia discuss emergency management cooperation

Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov met with Slovak Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok in Shusha on July 14, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The meeting noted that strategic partnership relations between the two countries are based on friendship, mutual respect and cooperation. The sides also emphasized broad potential for developing cooperation between the relevant agencies of Azerbaijan and Slovakia.

Heydarov briefed the Slovak minister on the activities of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations, including humanitarian demining in the liberated territories of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur.

He expressed confidence that the meeting would serve as a basis for developing cooperation and exchanging experience in civil defense, risk assessment, emergency prevention and rescue operations.

Šutaj Eštok thanked the Azerbaijani side for the warm welcome and noted mutual interest in expanding cooperation between the relevant bodies of Azerbaijan and Slovakia in emergency management.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
