The humanitarian aid sent from Azerbaijan to Iran has crossed the Astara border checkpoint.
According to Report's southern bureau, the humanitarian aid includes about 30 tons of food products, medicines, and medical supplies.
Humanitarian aid sent from Azerbaijan to Iran has reached the Astara state border checkpoint.
According to Report, the aid was delivered to the border crossing by vehicles from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan.
The shipment includes nearly 30 tons of food products, including 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of drinking water, approximately 600 kilograms of tea, as well as nearly 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies.
Currently, the trucks loaded with humanitarian aid are departing from the Astara state border checkpoint.
The aid was organized following a phone conversation on 8 March between President Ilham Aliyev and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian, with the aim of supporting the needs of the neighboring and friendly Iranian people.
Azerbaijan has sent humanitarian aid to Iran on the instructions of the president.
According to Report, following a telephone conversation held on March 8, 2026 between the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, humanitarian aid was dispatched to Iran in order to meet the current needs of the neighboring and friendly Iranian people.
In line with the instructions of the Azerbaijani leader, the humanitarian assistance delivered to Iran by vehicles of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan includes 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, more than 4 tons of water, about 600 kg of tea, and nearly 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies.
