Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss expanding justice cooperation

Azerbaijan's Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov has met with a delegation led by Pakistan's Minister of State for Law and Justice Aqeel Malik.

According to the Justice Ministry, the sides highlighted that Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations have reached the level of a strategic partnership, noting that mutual visits and high-level meetings have played an important role in strengthening bilateral ties.

The meeting noted that a number of joint activities have been carried out under the Memorandum of Cooperation and the Cooperation Program aimed at developing collaboration between the justice authorities of the two countries, with work in this area continuing.

The importance of a training program to be held in Baku was emphasized as a means of expanding the exchange of knowledge and experience and further strengthening professional ties between the justice institutions of Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

The Azerbaijani side also thanked Pakistan for the high-level organization of a training program held in Islamabad in May, while noting that another training session is planned to take place in Islamabad in October this year.

The participants expressed confidence that joint training programs and other initiatives would further enhance cooperation between the justice authorities of the two countries.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

Aqeel Malik is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in a training program in Baku for Azerbaijani judges, justice officials, and court personnel.
