Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan mull strengthening allied relations

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and ways to strengthen their allied relations, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alimirzamin Askerov wrote on X following a meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev, Report informs.

"It was an honor to meet with H.E. Mr. Yermek Kosherbayev, Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan. We discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as prospects for further strengthening the strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan," he wrote.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev replaced the ambassador to Kazakhstan on July 28. Previously, this position was held by Aghalar Atamoghlanov. Alimirzamin Askerov, in turn, previously headed the Azerbaijani diplomatic mission in Tajikistan.
