Ambassador: Azerbaijan interested in cooperation with US in demining

Azerbaijan is on the hunt for demining technologies and techniques, and hopes the US can lend a hand, Azerbaijan's ambassador to the United States Khazar Ibrahim told Axios, according to Report.

He said Azerbaijan is one of the most landmine-contaminated countries in the world..

"There are many, many, many technological advances in the world that can help," he said. "We hope we can work with the United States also on this issue."

Ibrahim noted that one of the critical things in demining is actually having correct mapping.

At the same time, mine clearance remains a costly, time-consuming and dangerous process.

Khazar Ibrahim also highlighted effective cooperation with the current White House administration.

"The good thing about the current US administration," Ibrahim said, "is that whatever you agree upon, you immediately start working on."
