Azerbaijan increased its trade with African countries almost fourfold in 3 years

Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and African countries increased from $150 million in 2023 to $580 million in 2025, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev said at an event dedicated to Africa Day 2026: "Rising Continent, Emerging Partnerships," Report informs.
According to the deputy minister, areas such as energy and renewable energy, agriculture and food security, transport and logistics, mining, education and vocational training, digitalization, innovation, and public service provision offer enormous potential for expanding Azerbaijan's cooperation with the region.
"Economic cooperation is also gradually expanding. Over the past three years, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and African countries has grown from $150 million to $580 million in 2025. This impressive growth clearly demonstrates the enormous potential of our economic partnership. We see extensive opportunities for cooperation in areas such as energy and renewable energy, agriculture and food security, transport and logistics, mining, education and vocational training, digitalization, innovation, and public services," he said.
