Azerbaijan highlights importance of nuclear safety at IAEA Board meeting

Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative-designate to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Kamil Khasiyev, has attended the September meeting of the agency's Board of Governors and highlighted the importance of nuclear safety, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Austria.

"In his statement at the IAEA Board of Governors, Ambassador Kamil Khasiyev, Resident Representative-designate of Azerbaijan, highlighted the importance of nuclear and radiation safety and commended Agency's support in strengthening national capacities in this field," the embassy said in a post on X.

Azerbaijan is officially represented at the IAEA through its Permanent Mission in Vienna. Khasiyev serves as Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to international organizations in Vienna, including the IAEA.
