Azerbaijan plans to send an economic delegation to Jordan in the coming months to discuss prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation and launching joint projects, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said, Report informs.
Speaking at a joint briefing in Baku with Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al Safadi, Bayramov said the delegation would include representatives of various Azerbaijani government agencies. An Azerbaijan-Jordan business forum may also be held during the visit, he noted.
Bayramov said the two sides held detailed discussions on the current state of economic cooperation and opportunities for its further development.
He noted that the current level of bilateral trade does not reflect the full potential of relations between the two countries.
"The current level of economic cooperation does not satisfy us. There is significant potential for further expanding economic ties," Bayramov said.
According to the minister, promising areas for deeper cooperation include industry, agriculture, transport and digital development.
Bayramov also stressed that, alongside increasing bilateral trade, both countries should place greater emphasis on implementing joint investment projects.
