Azerbaijan, Austria hold first consular consultations

The first consular consultations between Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry and Austria's Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs have been held in Baku, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

The Azerbaijani delegation at the consultations was led by Emil Safarov, head of the Consular Department, while the Austrian delegation was headed by Rene Amry, deputy director general for consular affairs.

The consultations reviewed the current state of cooperation with Austria in the consular field and prospects for its development, as well as the possibility of signing new bilateral documents and digitalizing consular services. Detailed discussions were also held on several draft documents under consideration.

The sides exchanged information on recent innovations in the consular field and discussed proposals to strengthen ties between Azerbaijan and Austria in legal assistance, education, migration, labor and other areas.

The first consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Spain were held on June 6, and similar consultations with Syria were held on June 8.
