Azerbaijan and Kenya have discussed cooperation in the energy sector.
According to Report, the discussions took place during a meeting between Azerbaijan's Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev and Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum James Opiyo Wandayi.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics in bilateral relations.
Wandayi stated that during the bilateral meeting between Kenyan President William Ruto and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, held as part of the Kenyan leader's visit to Baku to participate in the World Urban Forum 13, special attention was paid to cooperation in the energy sector.
The minister noted that Azerbaijan's extensive experience in the exploration and development of energy resources could contribute to the efficient utilization of Kenya's energy potential, workforce training, and the attraction of foreign investment.
The ambassador emphasized the importance of implementing the memorandum of cooperation in the energy sector signed last year between the relevant agencies of the two countries. He also noted that during his visit to Baku, the President of Kenya met with the leadership of SOCAR.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue contacts between the relevant institutions of both countries.
