The informal meeting of the heads of state of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), held in Turkistan, is significant for several reasons, Azerbaijani MP Azer Allahveranov said.
According to Report, Allahveranov noted that, within the framework of the summit, Turkistan became one of the first twin cities of Shusha. In his words, this reflects the strong cultural and historical ties between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, as well as the development of brotherly relations.
The MP stressed that the OTS is entering a new stage of development.
"In the 21st century, the Turkic world is becoming an influential political center of power and shaping a development strategy that strengthens its unity. Integration processes within the OTS are advancing rapidly. Decisions adopted at each summit reinforce the unity of the Turkic world. Ties based on shared historical, ethnic, cultural, and spiritual values create the foundation for moving toward common goals.
Today, the cultural and historical ties among OTS member states are developing across many areas. Azerbaijan"s role in this process, especially during its chairmanship, demonstrates significant potential for further integration and the development of a unified position."
Allahveranov also noted that representatives of NGOs from OTS member states, business circles, and urban planning experts will arrive in Azerbaijan to participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum 13, which will be held in Baku from May 17 to 22. According to him, this will create conditions for developing a new strategy for cooperation.
