Aygun Aliyeva: Sustainable urban dev't impossible without civil society participation

Sustainable urban development is impossible without civil society participation, Aygun Aliyeva, Executive Director of the Agency for State Support to NGOs, said at the NGO Forum held within the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.

Aliyeva noted that for the first time in the history of the World Urban Forum, an NGO Forum was included in the official program: "This confirms that sustainable urban development cannot succeed without the participation of civil society."

She emphasized that Azerbaijan is becoming an important international platform for NGO dialogue and cooperation: "In 2025, Baku hosted the Founding Conference of the Global South NGO Platform, in Nakhchivan, the NGO Platform of the Organization of Turkic States was established, and just last week the General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform was held."
