Auld: Establishing strategic partnership between London and Baku is key milestone

UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld has described the decision to raise bilateral relations between London and Baku to the level of strategic partnership as one of the most important events of his diplomatic mission.

Report informs that the diplomat made the remarks today at a farewell meeting with Azerbaijani journalists.

"In August 2025, the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan agreed to raise bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership. This determined the future of ties and became an indicator of the great potential of our relations. They are already deep, multifaceted and trust-based, but can develop even more actively," he said.

According to the diplomat, the strategic partnership between the two countries will be built on three main areas: defense and security, trade and investment, and innovation and education.
