Anar Guliyev: Azerbaijan follows 'build back better' principle in reconstruction of liberated territories

Azerbaijan is guided by the principle of "build back better" in the reconstruction of its liberated territories, the Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, Anar Guliyev, said.

According to Report, Guliyev made the remarks at a meeting of the Baku Coalition for Urban Climate Action and Sustainable Urbanization held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.

He stated that ongoing reconstruction efforts demonstrate how modern, sustainable, and livable urban environments can be created from the ground up.

"Our work in the liberated territories, based on the ‘build back better" principle, demonstrates how modern, resilient, and livable urban spaces can be created from scratch," he said. "These efforts go far beyond physical construction. They are about creating inclusive cities where people can live, work, and develop."

Guliyev also highlighted the importance of discussions on integrating housing policy into climate strategies, expanding partnerships, and advancing the urban climate agenda with the participation of local and national leaders, academia, multilateral development banks, and other stakeholders.
