The peace declaration signed at the White House on August 8 marked the beginning of a bold new chapter in the history of the South Caucasus region, Amy Carlon, US Chargé d'Affaires in Baku, said at the annual gala for Azerbaijani alumni of American universities, Report informs.
According to Carlon, the US is committed to supporting Azerbaijan and Armenia in establishing a lasting peace.
"Ultimately, peace and the continued development of the region depend on more than just cooperation between our governments. Equally important is strengthening people-to-people ties between Americans and Azerbaijanis. We count on you to help make this possible and unlock the South Caucasus's enormous potential in trade, transit, and energy," she emphasized.
