The United Kingdom is ready to support the implementation of the Middle Corridor project, including the deployment of British expertise, investment, and financing to build sustainable infrastructure, the new UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman, said at a press conference, Report informs.
Ambassador Norman noted that Azerbaijan and Armenia are taking steps toward a lasting peace grounded in dialogue and continuous interaction between the two sides. This situation creates potential new opportunities for trade, investment, and regional connectivity, according to the diplomat.
"We welcome practical steps such as border delimitation work, Azerbaijan's electricity supplies to Armenia, and the cross-border Bridge of Peace initiative," the ambassador emphasized.
He noted that opening transport, energy, and communication links can help ensure that peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia yields greater prosperity and security for the entire region.
Norman added that close, friendly relations connect the UK and Azerbaijan.
"We work together on many issues and share common views on various topics. I look forward to further strengthening these friendly relations," he added.
