Paraguay prioritizes further strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, particularly in the energy sector, Cirilo Guillermo Sosa Flores, Paraguay's non-resident ambassador to Azerbaijan based in Ankara, told Report.
The diplomat added that Azerbaijan's geographic and economic advantages make it a complementary partner for Paraguay.
"We want to strengthen relations with Azerbaijan, for example, in the energy sector, particularly in hydrocarbon production, and also develop cooperation in Azerbaijan's technical and technological capabilities in areas such as oil refining and pipelines, which Paraguay needs," the ambassador stated.
The diplomat emphasized that Paraguay also exports many important food products to Azerbaijan, such as meat and grain: "As a diplomat, I will strive to do everything possible to further strengthen our relations."
The ambassador noted that he looks forward to presenting his credentials to the president of Azerbaijan to officially assume his duties and represent his country's interests in Azerbaijan.
"I hope that my credentials will be accepted next month," the diplomat added.
