Ambassador: China pleased with Azerbaijan's support in establishing International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations

China is pleased with the support of 83 countries, including Azerbaijan, in adopting a resolution on establishing the International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations on June 10, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei said at an event dedicated to the first International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations.

Report quotes the diplomat as saying this initiative was put forward by the People's Republic of China last year at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly and received broad support from the international community.

"It is gratifying that 83 states, including Azerbaijan, signed the resolution, which indicates a growing understanding of the importance of dialogue among civilizations for ensuring peace, mutual respect and sustainable development," Lu Mei emphasized.

She also noted that strengthening inter-civilizational interaction helps overcome global challenges and plays a key role in building a more harmonious world.
