Aliyev: A new chapter of cooperation has opened between Azerbaijan and China

A new chapter of cooperation has been opened between Azerbaijan and China, President Ilham Aliyev said in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum themed "The Mission of Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust," Report informs.

The head of state noted that many steps have been taken in terms of mutual activities after his state visit to China and the signing of the declaration on comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries:

"We are very pleased about this. We attach importance to it. Today, a significant number of Chinese companies operate in Azerbaijan, with some of them investing and some participating in infrastructure projects. During my visit to China, I had meetings with the heads of many leading companies, and I am glad that their activities in Azerbaijan are already yielding results. By the way, they work in a very efficient, fast, and high-quality manner."

"We have also opened a new chapter of cooperation. This concerns the defense industry; Azerbaijan has already purchased certain military products, some of which were demonstrated at the military parade dedicated to the fifth anniversary of our victory. Some are already on the way, and discussions are being conducted regarding others, meaning we are discussing cooperation in the defense and military-technical fields," Ilham Aliyev emphasized.

The head of state added that the volume of cargo from China to Azerbaijan and in the opposite direction is increasing:

"Central Asian countries have also joined this process. In short, our mutual relations have a history, and multilateral cooperation is being developed with the countries located along the Middle Corridor. A plant for the production of solar panels will be built in Azerbaijan. This is a major investment project, and we will implement it with a Chinese company. These products will also be exported."
