Azerbaijan"s investments in countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) are approaching $21 billion, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during a meeting of OTS government leaders in Bishkek, according to Report.
Expressing satisfaction with the growing economic ties, Asadov noted that Azerbaijan"s trade with OTS countries increased by over 8% between January and July of this year.
"The volume of investments Azerbaijan has made in OTS countries is approaching $21 billion. With several partners, we have established joint investment funds, facilitating mutual investments in priority economic sectors," the Prime Minister said.
He also highlighted that cooperation in the transport sector is expanding and significantly strengthening regional connectivity.
"The Middle Corridor, which passes through the territories of Turkic states, plays a strategic role both regionally and in expanding global trade and transport links. In this context, the recent agreements reached in Washington, enabling direct transport connections between mainland Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, are of historic significance. The opening of the Zangazur Corridor will not only provide new economic and transit opportunities for all regional countries but, by integrating into the Middle Corridor, will also increase its throughput capacity," the Prime Minister concluded.
