The Czech Republic has vast experience in green energy and has sufficient knowledge and technologies that can be applied in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, senior researcher at the Center of Analysis of International Relations Shahmar Hajiyev said at an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, according to Report.
"The pandemic had an impact on the trade turnover between the two countries, which amounted to $300 million in 2021, but we hope for its growth this year," Hajiyev said.
He especially stressed cooperation in the field of energy between the countries: "Azerbaijan accounts for 25% of oil exported to the Czech Republic."
Hajiyev added that the Czech Republic is currently trying to diversify its supplies and reduce its dependence on Russian gas: "While earlier the Czech Republic was 87% dependent on Russian gas, by the end of 2022 it was only 4%."
