Ahmadov: LuxAz's goal is to be a bridge between Luxembourg, Azerbaijan

Due to the noticeable increase in the number of Azerbaijanis living in Luxembourg, the need arose to establish a center for them, Seymur Ahmadov, Chairman of the Luxembourg–Azerbaijan Friendship Association (LuxAz), told Report.

Ahmadov said that although the association has been active since the end of 2024, it didn't have a permanent building until now.

"Such a center is necessary not only for Azerbaijanis living in the Grand Duchy but also for others. Even before the opening, people were coming and asking when the center would start operating and what activities it would offer," the official noted.

He emphasized that the opening date was deliberately chosen to coincide with the celebration of Azerbaijan's Independence Day. According to him, the main goal of the organization is to become a cultural and business bridge between Azerbaijan and Luxembourg.

Sevinj Omarli, LuxAz's communications manager, added that the new center plans to host various projects, including language courses in Azerbaijani, French, and Luxembourgish, piano and guitar clubs, as well as IT programming courses.

She noted that more than 500 Azerbaijanis already live in Luxembourg, and the center will serve as a venue for events for both adults and children. The first event will be dedicated to June 1 – International Children's Day.

"We also plan to organize exhibitions. In autumn, LuxAz intends to participate in a music festival and host a jazz forum," Omarli added.
