Sabail FC signs contract with Michael Essien

Sabail FC has included well-known footballer Michael Essien into the squad.

Club's spokesperson, Tora Ahmedova told Report, the Baku representative will sign a 1,5-year contract with an experienced midfielder.

Essien will also be in the coaching staff of Sabail U-19 team.

The midfielder, who scored nine goals in 58 games in Ghana, went to Sabail as a free agent.

Essien who started his professional career at Bastia in France, played most within Chelsea.

An experienced player scored 19 goals in 168 games within Chelsea. He also played within Real Madrid and Milan.

Michael Essien arrived in Azerbaijan for "Baku 2019: Stars Finals" dedicated to the final match of the Europa League in early March.
