Baku. 20 August. REPORT.AZ/ FC Krylia Sovetov FC has clarified the introduction of footballer of Azerbaijani national team Ramil Sheydayev as Russia’s citizen on the official website of Russian Premier League.
The press service of the FC told Report that this step was taken for prevention of the 22-year-old striker from obtaining work visa: ‘He is Russian and Azerbaijani citizen. He is ordered as a Russian citizen. In this case, there is no need to get work permit. Therefore, the official website of the Premier League introduced him as Russian citizen. However, according to the rules of football, he is a legionary. Because, a footballer playing within national team of other country cannot wear uniform of Russian national team. Those who have not such right are legionaries’.
Ramil Sheydayev broke the agreement with Turkey’s Trabzonspor FC on August 9. He played in Karabakh FC last season. Shaydayev, who signed one-year agreement with Krylia Sovetov FC on August 17, has played for all low-age national teams of Russian Federation. However, he chose Azerbaijan as main national team.
