Barcelona star Lionel Messi has set a new record, Report mentions, citing the official website of the Catalan club.
The 34-year-old striker has been named the most capped player in the Copa del Rey with the Barcelona shirt. Messi won it in the 1/8 final match against Rayo Vallecano 2: 1.
The Argentine forward made his 76th appearance, beating former club player Josep Samityer's record of 75 matches. He is followed by Andres Iniesta (73), Vicente Piera (71), and Xavi Hernandez (70).
Lionel Messi has scored 53 goals and made 34 productive assists in the Copa del Rey.
