Lithuanian ambassador to Azerbaijan supports Qarabag FK after its defeat to Twente

Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Vaskelevicius has expressed support for the Qarabag football club following the club's defeat in the UEFA Conference League playoffs, Report informs.

"Though last night did not bring victory for FK Qarabagh but one result can never diminish what this team has achieved. Big respect to Qarabağ FK and to its HC Mr. Gurban Gurbanov, whose leadership over many years brought unforgettable European victories and made an extraordinary contribution to Azerbaijan's football culture. Such legacies endure," he wrote on X.

In a two-legged UEFA Conference League tie, Qarabag FC lost to Dutch Twente (1-0, 1-4). This ended Qarabag's run of 12 consecutive seasons in the main stages of European competition.
