Head coach: Azerbaijani team aims for stronger final performance in 2026 EMF Euro

The Azerbaijan national minifootball team wants to deliver an even stronger performance in the European Championship (2026 EMF Euro) final, Head coach Elshad Guliyev stated at a press conference following the semifinal against Serbia in Slovakia, according to Report's correspondent in Bratislava.

"I congratulate all my players and our people. We want to become champions. Serbia is one of Europe's strongest teams. It was indeed a tough match. The opponent may have played better, but we achieved the result. In the final, we want to show an even better game."

He noted that the quarterfinal against the Czech Republic had drained a lot of energy: "We must prepare for tomorrow. We intend to play better than before. One goal can decide the outcome. Both Serbia and we played cautiously, thinking about defense. But our team does not play defensive football."

Azerbaijan defeated Serbia in the semifinal through a penalty shootout, after regular time ended 1–1.
