Goalkeeper Gasimov: Azerbaijani team earns deserved win over Kazakhstan

Azerbaijan's national minifootball team claimed a deserved victory in the round of 16 at the European Championship (2026 EMF Euro) in Slovakia

Speaking to Report's correspondent in Bratislava, team goalkeeper Aghaseyid Gasimov shared his thoughts on the 3–2 win against Kazakhstan: "I congratulate all our people. It was a tough match. We earned a deserved victory. From now on, there will be no easy games. We must forget this match and focus on the next one. We want to leave here as champions."

Gasimov also commented on the opponent's physical style of play: "We expected Kazakhstan to play hard. This was our third time facing them, and in all matches we saw tough challenges. We were ready for it, overcame it, and achieved a deserved win."

Looking ahead to the quarterfinal against the Czech Republic, Gasimov assessed their chances: "This team is one of the best opponents. We will do our best to make our people happy and become champions. I promise that either in the match against the Czech Republic or in the final, I will score a goal myself."

The Czech Republic vs. Azerbaijan quarterfinal will take place tonight at 00:00 (GMT+4) at Tipos Arena.
