Gara Garayev: Since I played not well, foreign clubs were not interested in me

Baku. 17 October. REPORT.AZ/ Only good words can be said about “Atletico” FC. That is commendable and most aggressive team of our group. It will be the same tomorrow. If we earn points, we will succeed. We will try to get a good result before our fans”.

Report informs, "Qarabag" player Gara Garayev spoke about the match against Spain's Atletico at the 3rd round of the Champions League group stage. The experienced defender also answered questions from local and foreign reporters.

- What does it mean for you to play in the team that is named after the occupied territories of Azerbaijan?

- Certainly, it is difficult not to play in Aghdam. However, "Qarabag" in some sense makes forget about it. I believe we'll play there again. We are working hard to represent the name of this region. Now we have a more serious responsibility.

- Recently, the national team played well in Germany in the first half. Will that atmosphere have a positive effect on "Qarabag" at a meeting with "Atletico"?

- I think national team and "Qarabag" are different. In my opinion, the pressure is much more on the national team. Because national team represents the whole country. We take the atmosphere in "Qarabag" to national team. The same thing can happen to "Qarabag" after the national team.

- “Qarabag” players have been playing in European Cups for four years, but they do not go abroad. Don’t they have proposal, or is there other factor? What is the problem?

- Probably, I have not reached the required level during these four years. I played not well and therefore foreign clubs were not interested in me. Other players also do not receive an offer. Earlier I said that if I receive an offer, I would accept regardless of the amount of money. But there is no proposal. I do not know the cause of the problem.

- Although the stadium was full in the game with Roma, fans had problems. Now, interest is little. What kind of call can you make to fans?

- After being included in the group we will have 2 big games. We had one. It must be celebrated. Empty seats during match against "Roma" will be full at match against “Atletico”. I think tickets will be sold till the match tomorrow. Support by fans now even more important.
