Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernández has become the sixth player in World Cup history to be sent off in a final match.
According to Report, the 25‑year‑old received a red card in the decisive 2026 World Cup final, where Argentina lost 0–1 to Spain in extra time.
Previously, five other players had faced the same fate in World Cup finals: Pedro Monzón and Gustavo Dezotti (Argentina, 1990), Marcel Desailly (France, 1998), Zinedine Zidane (France, 2006), and John Heitinga (Netherlands, 2010).
