Egypt's ambassador: Egypt will beat Australia by one goal in FIFA World Cup round of 32

Egypt's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Houssam Eldine Reda, is confident that the Egyptian national team will defeat Australia in the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup.

"They say the Egyptians were the ones who invented football, or at least similar images can be seen on some ancient Egyptian monuments. I don't know how true that is, but based on that alone, we should win. Of course, may the better team prevail, but I am confident that Egypt will be the stronger side," the diplomat said in an interview with Report.

According to him, the match will end with Egypt winning by a one-goal margin.

"I think the match will end with Egypt winning by one goal. I hope it won't go to a penalty shootout. No matter if the score is 1-0 or 2-1, the important thing is that Egypt wins," he said.

The Round of 32 match between Egypt and Australia will take place on July 3 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, United States. Kick-off is scheduled for 22:00 Baku time.
