PSG striker Lionel Messi failed to score a penalty in the first leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League against Real Madrid, Report informs.
This is Messi's fifth unscored penalty kick in the European Cup.
At the 61st minute, the referee recorded a violation on Kylian Mbappe in the penalty area of the Madrid team. However, Thibault Courtois parried the Argentinean's blow.
According to Opta, Messi holds the record for the most missed penalties in the Champions League since the 2003/04 season, when it began collecting this data.
