Spain's Barcelona Football Club has matched its best goal-scoring performance in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) for the 21st century.
According to Report, the Catalan team achieved this milestone with a commanding 4-0 victory against Germany's Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the quarterfinal stage.
Led by head coach Hans-Dieter Flick, Barcelona has now scored 36 goals in this season's UCL campaign. The last time the club reached this number was during the 2008/2009 season under then-head coach Pep Guardiola.
Barcelona's all-time record, however, was set in the 1999/2000 season, when the team, under Louis Van Gaal's management, scored an astounding 45 goals in the tournament.
