Azerbaijan's national minifootball team will seek to follow the coaches' instructions as closely as possible in the European Championship final against Ukraine, player Khatai Baghirov said.
Baghirov made the remarks in an interview with Report's correspondent dispatched to Bratislava.
The player shared his thoughts on today's decisive match against Ukraine.
"We have been watching the opponent for two or three matches. They are a very dynamic team. They are a well-prepared team. Of course, we will also prepare seriously for this match. We will try to carry out the coaches' instructions as much as possible," he said.
Baghirov also commented on the semifinal match in which Azerbaijan beat Serbia 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
"We were preparing seriously for this match. Serbia were one of the strongest teams in the tournament. The match was very difficult. We did our best. I was lucky to score. But that does not matter. We needed to reach the final. We managed to do that. I congratulate all our people and the football community," he said.
"Even though it was through a penalty shootout, we managed to win. True, after the opponent's equaliser, there was a drop in morale for two or three minutes. But then we were able to recover. We also had chances to take the lead. The opponent had such moments too," Baghirov said.
Azerbaijan will face Ukraine in the final today. The match will be held at Tipos Arena and will kick off at 10:30 p.m. Baku time.
