Azerbaijan minifootball coach says team overcame difficult playoff test

Azerbaijan's national minifootball team had not faced such difficulty so far at the European Championship in Slovakia.

Report's correspondent dispatched to Bratislava informs that Azerbaijan head coach Elshad Guliyev said this at a press conference.

The specialist shared his thoughts after the team defeated Kazakhstan 3-2 in the last 16 of the European Championship.

"It was a difficult match. I congratulate the opponent. They put in a good performance. I also congratulate my players. Playoff matches are difficult. We wanted to play more carefully.

We had not faced such difficulty until now. The opponents know each other. We conceded an unexpected goal, and that affected the result. We made changes and managed to change the game.

The opponent played roughly. We expected that. We have seen such matches before. We were prepared for it and managed to cope," he said.

The specialist added that Azerbaijan's quarterfinal opponent, Czechia, is very strong.

"They are a good and well-prepared team," he said.
