Arab, Turkmen, and Georgian clubs apply to hold training camp in Gabala

Football clubs from Arab countries, as well as Turkmenistan and Georgia, want to hold their summer training camp in Gabala, Azerbaijan, Sabuhi Garayev, General Affairs Coordinator of Gabala Sports Club, told Report.

He added that Azerbaijani teams will also join the training process at the club's base: "Premier League representatives Gabala, Sumgayit, Shamakhi, and Shafa have confirmed they will hold their training here. Camps will start in early July. We have received requests from several foreign clubs and sent them our conditions. Teams from Arab countries, Turkmenistan, and Georgia want to come. We have informed them of our terms, but no confirmation has been received yet."

Garayev stressed that they are ready to host so many teams: "Gabala Sports Club's base has five natural-grass football fields. In addition, there are artificial, mini-football, and sand pitches, all in ready condition. Both national teams and clubs use the natural fields. All five pitches, with one main field, are fully prepared for training camps. During the pandemic, we hosted eight Azerbaijani teams here and sent them off at a high level. Youth national teams also trained at the base and played friendly matches here."
