Zaur Fatizada: Azerbaijan's compliance with FATF standards reaches 90.5% – EXCLUSIVE

Azerbaijan's adherence to Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards under the Council of Europe's MONEYVAL Committee has risen to 90.5%, bolstering the country's position on both regional and global levels.

Zaur Fatizada, Chairman of the Financial Monitoring Service, told Report that following the adoption of the progress report, Azerbaijan climbed from 24th to 14th place among 32 countries evaluated in the 5th round of MONEYVAL, based on the average rating indicator.

Fatizada added that recent institutional and legislative reforms in Azerbaijan aimed at combating money laundering and terrorist financing have strengthened coordination between supervisory and law enforcement agencies. These efforts have significantly improved the country's compliance with FATF standards, and Azerbaijan's progress received high marks in the latest MONEYVAL monitoring.
