Azerbaijan has provided financial, technical assistance and capacity-building support to more than 140 countries to date, Yalchin Rafiyev, Deputy Foreign Minister, said during panel discussions at the 51st Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group in Baku.
According to Report, Rafiyev said Azerbaijan, through its donor activities, has supported 43 of the 44 least developed countries, 53 of 54 African countries, and 51 of the 57 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
He emphasized that sustainable development is best achieved through strengthening local capacities, knowledge sharing, and support for nationally owned development projects.
Rafiyev also highlighted growing cooperation between the Azerbaijani international development agency and IsDB.
"Our joint efforts are advancing in priority areas such as digital innovation, healthcare and vocational education, climate resilience, and humanitarian assistance, with particular focus on Africa, as well as Syria, Afghanistan, and other vulnerable countries. We hope that today's discussions will help strengthen this partnership and identify practical ways of cooperation that deliver sustainable impact on the ground."
