World Bank recommends Azerbaijan integrate climate measures into urban master plans – EXCLUSIVE

Azerbaijan should integrate carbon emission reduction goals and measures to decrease automobile dependency into its urban master plans, Mohamed Nada, Senior Urban Development Specialist at the World Bank, said during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum 13 in Baku, according to Report.

"It is important for Azerbaijan to incorporate concrete climate action measures into its urban master plans: how to create more pedestrian-friendly environments and expand public transportation networks, how to establish efficient water resource management, how to address energy consumption issues and improve building energy efficiency, as well as other related aspects," Nada noted.

According to the specialist, World Urban Forum 13 serves as an effective platform for exchanging ideas, expertise, and practical experience in the field of urban planning.
