“Visa” increases contactless payment limit by 60% in Azerbaijan

“Visa” has increased the contactless payment limit by AZN 30 or 60% from AZN 50 to AZN 80, Report informs.
Commenting on the issue, VISA Regional Director for the South Caucasus Kristina Dorosh said that nearly 30% of payments in Azerbaijan are done via contactless cards: “We understand that this type of payment is demanded more at present. Therefore, “Visa” makes changes for people.”
“Visa” and “MasterCard” demanded Azerbaijan-based commercial banks to enable contactless payments in plastic cards issued since April 2019. According to the estimates, all plastic cards will have a contactless payment function from early 2022.
