Value of public procurement in Azerbaijan rises to AZN10.8 billion

Between 2020 and 2025, the total value of public procurement in Azerbaijan increased 1.6 times from 6.6 billion manats (approximately $3.9 billion) to 10.8 billion manats (just over $6.35 billion), Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of Azerbaijan, Elnur Baghirov, stated at the annual meeting of the INTOSAI Working Group on Public Procurement Audit (WGPPA) in Baku.

Baghirov noted that the growth in procurement volume is one of the main factors driving economic activity in the country.

"The increase in public procurement contributes to expanding economic activity, enlarging the order portfolio of local enterprises, and creating new jobs. Rising demand from government institutions for goods, works, and services boosts business revenues, increases turnover in production and service sectors, accelerates private sector development, and adds to overall economic growth," he said.
