Valerie Levkov: WB doubled its investment in housing sector in 5 years

The World Bank Group (WB) has doubled its investment in the housing sector over the past five years, Valérie Levkov, Vice President for Infrastructure at the World Bank, said at a panel discussion at the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs.

"Over the past five years, the World Bank Group has doubled its investment in the housing sector. The WB is implementing projects in more than 100 countries and plans to strengthen its activities in this area. Significant examples include support for land reform in Kenya, financing sustainable housing construction in Brazil, mobilizing up to $3 billion in private investment, and assistance in reforming the housing market in Pakistan.

Our main goal is to engage the private sector by leveraging public resources to create an enabling environment," Levkov emphasized.
