The Turkic Investment Fund (TIF) is expanding cooperation with sovereign wealth funds and development institutions in the Gulf countries, TIF President Baghdad Amreyev said in an interview with Report.
"Recently, I visited Kuwait, where I held meetings with the Kuwait Investment Authority, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. We discussed opportunities for joint project financing, attracting investment to TIF member states and developing closer cooperation with the Arab Coordination Group," Amreyev said.
He also noted that negotiations had been held this year with institutions in the Gulf countries, including the Qatar Investment Authority, Qatar Fund for Development and Saudi Fund for Development.
"The next step will be to select a small number of projects that are of mutual economic interest. I am convinced that the Gulf countries can become an important source of long-term investment and financing the development projects in the Turkic region," the TIF president added.
