Surplus balance of payments grows by 50%

The surplus of the balance of payments of Azerbaijan in the first quarter of this year amounted to $3,634,700,000.
Report informs with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan that this is a growth of 50.3% over the same period last year.
The growth was mainly due to high oil prices in the world market, as well as positive trends in the current account.
The total surplus was formed due to the current account surplus of $3,061,500,000 (-13.1%), capital account deficit of $2,500,000 (surplus a year earlier), financial account surplus of $59,200,000 (deficit a year earlier), surplus under the balancing item in the amount of $516,500,000 (-24.6%).
