OTS members invest $12 billion in Uzbekistan from 2016 to 2025

Member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) invested $12 billion in Uzbekistan's economy between 2016 and 2025, with $4 billion invested last year alone, Fazliddin Nasriddinov, head of the Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecasting Department at the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, said.

According to Report, speaking at the 2nd International Conference of Leading National Analytical Centers of Organization of Turkic States in Baku, he said more than 4,500 enterprises operating in Uzbekistan currently have capital from OTS member states.

Nasriddinov identified trade and investment as one of the key areas for further cooperation. He proposed establishing a joint OTS Trade Potential Assessment Framework to systematically identify untapped trade opportunities and existing barriers between member states.

He also proposed an OTS Connectivity and Trade Facilitation Efficiency Index, along with an annual regional scorecard that would allow each member state to monitor progress and identify areas requiring attention.

In addition, Nasriddinov proposed an OTS Digital Trade Compatibility Assessment to identify gaps in digital cross-border systems and develop a joint roadmap to address them.
